Vehicle maintenance is performed with passion.
Our Fleet Maintenance Facility is well equipped to handle the rigorous task of bus and motorcoach maintenance and repair. During inspections the vehicles are lifted six feet off the ground to allow our technicians full access to the undercarriage and braking systems. Complete diagnostic equipment is used to monitor the advanced electronic safety systems now designed into vehicles.
But a maintenance facility is only as good as the staff using it. Our technicians are highly trained career professionals. Each tech receives continuous training directly from the vehicle manufacturer. Additional schooling is performed by engine, transmission and component vendors. Senior personnel are graduates of the respected Universal Technical Institute.
Our technicians follow highly detailed service schedules for each of our vehicles. Few fleets have a preventive maintenance program as proactive as that of Tour West America.
"As a factory Rep for Setra North America with over 20 years in vehicle maintenance and repair, I can testify that Tour West America is in a class of its own. Tour West has a staff of talented, extensively trained and certified mechanics, including support staff that assures a clean pleasant ride. It's this and a regimented, well documented maintenance regime that insures safe trouble free service to their customers. At Setra of North America we offer mountains of documents and forms to assist with maintaining our buses. Tour West has actually added to this mountain by including practices that have given them years of safe and trouble free service. If all Setra owners worked this hard to maintain their coaches, I'd have time to be a customer...

The Bus and Motorcoach Operator is your proud captain and is selected for 2 main reasons.
1. The driver must be capable of the safe operation of the vehicle.
2. The driver must be polite, respectful and pleasant...to you, your passengers, and all the contacts along the way. Tour West America understands we are in the Service Industry.
To fulfill these expectations our safety department accepts only the most suitable applicants for its training program. Each properly licensed driver receives a minimum 80 hours of training regardless of their experience. Through a combination of classroom, on the road and vehicle training our drivers are ready for the demanding task ahead.
All operators meet or exceed the minimum DOT requirements; including a Class B Commercial Drivers License with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement. In addition, Federal requirements of medical examinations and alcohol and drug abuse testing are strictly enforced.
The performance of our drivers is continuously assessed to assure compliance with Tour West America, State and Federal policies. Training is ongoing at Tour West America.
DriveCam technology assists our safety department.
You will notice a small camera affixed to the driver's windshield. This bit of modern technology allows our safety personnel to consistently and effectively coach our drivers according to our safe driving policies. Exceptional forces such as hard braking, swerving, collision, etc., cause the recorder to save critical seconds of audio and video footage immediately before and after the triggered event. Information is delivered daily to our safety personnel highlighting the specific behaviors and root causes.
Our Company is prepared for the unexpected.
Whatever the delay our maintenance and dispatch personnel are available 24 hours a day to provide solutions. Our #1 goal is to minimize passenger discomfort and delay.
Insurance is required by law and always available for your review.
Lancer Insurance Company provides us with the federally mandated $5 million in vehicle liability coverage.
